Dine And Gather

A Sunlit Modernist Pavilion for Contemporary Dining

DINE AND GATHER is a bright, architectural restaurant in Sydney designed around long tables, shared meals, and the easy rhythm of Australian social dining.

The Pavilion Concept

An Open, Airy Room for Conversation

The restaurant is designed as a modern pavilion—open, light-filled, and connected to the outdoors. Large windows and high ceilings create a sense of generosity that encourages guests to linger.

The layout avoids enclosed spaces, favouring long sightlines and communal energy. Natural materials and a restrained palette keep the focus on food and company, while the pavilion concept extends into the evening, when warm lighting transforms the space into an intimate room for long dinners.

The Dining Room

Long Tables and Shared Plates

The heart of DINE AND GATHER is a series of long communal tables that invite shared meals and easy conversation. The room is bright and open, with views to native greenery.

  • Tables are arranged to encourage interaction between guests.
  • The space can accommodate both intimate dinners and larger groups.
  • Architectural details like exposed beams and polished concrete add texture.

Native Greenery and Ceramics

The restaurant incorporates native Australian plants and handmade ceramics to ground the space in its location. Eucalyptus and other native foliage appear throughout, while ceramic tableware is locally sourced and adds tactile warmth. Natural textures like timber and stone are used extensively.

A Restrained Palette

The colour scheme of sand, eucalyptus, chalk, and clay keeps the space calm and bright. Walls are painted in warm sand tones, accents of eucalyptus green appear in upholstery and plants, and clay-coloured details add subtle warmth.

Architectural Details

Exposed beams, large windows, and polished concrete floors give the space a modern, architectural character. High ceilings create a sense of openness, large windows connect indoors and outdoors, and concrete floors are softened by rugs and natural light.

Evening Atmosphere

From Sunlit Days to Warm Evenings

As the sun sets, the pavilion transforms. Warm lighting, candles, and the glow from the open kitchen create an intimate atmosphere perfect for long dinners.

  • Lighting is dimmed and warmed in the evening.
  • Candles are placed on tables for a soft glow.
  • The open kitchen becomes a focal point of activity.
